Meet the Over Drive Team

Carrington Beckford

A former collegiate football player who took his passion for sports and biomechanics and turned it into a business, Carrington was mentored by some of the top and respected coaches in the industry such as Pete Bommarito, Seth Forman, and Dustin Brancheau. He continued his education by studying pioneers like Dr. Peter Weyland, Leroy Burrell, Louie Simmons, Cal Dietz, and formed friendships and work relationships with some of the top coaches in the industry. In 2018, after working under Seth Forman at Advance Athletic Development, Carrington founded Overdrive Elite Performance Systems to continue his journey and passions of teaching and developing athletes.

Carrington is known to train a great number of top elite athletes in the area such as: 2023 National Champion Cornelius Johnson, a wide receiver for the University of Michigan, Kevin Pierre Louis, a linebacker for the Houston Texans, and Zaire Franklin, a linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts. Other notable trainees include NC State basketball standout DJ Burns, Travis Jones, a Baltimore Ravens 2022 third-round pick, and Tim Wilson, a former receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, Carrington has trained Caley Waters, a USA 2022 Lacrosse Olympic goalie select, Montana Semmel, a NY Yankees draft pick, Mr. Connecticut Jackson Mitchell, LB from Uconn, Kenny Soares, LB from Northwestern, and Omar Fortt, a former Uconn linebacker currently playing in the CFL for the BC Lions.

Under Carrington’s guidance, a large percentage of youth athletes have earned college scholarships and roster positions in all sports, especially in football, boys and girls lacrosse, soccer, track and field, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, softball, baseball, and squash. His commitment to athlete development has made him a prominent figure in sports coaching and athlete training.

Junior Joseph

From Pennsylvania. Graduated from Wilson West Lawn school and was Pennsylvania football writer’s first team all-state. Former four-year starter at linebacker for the University of Connecticut who received All- American honorable mentions in both 2015 and 2017 and was awarded MVP of the team at UConn in 2017. Then went on to be an un-drafted free agent for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018. Former personal trainer at the Lab Performance Harrisburg, PA and Equinox Greenwich, CT.

Khairi Fortt

Khairi Fortt also known as Khi, is the football operator for OD. Fortt grew up in Stamford, Ct and was an outstanding football player in school. The number one ranked football player in CT to be exact. In 2009, Khairi Fortt was nominated as the number two outside linebacker in the country by USA Today news. After playing in the 2010 U.S Army All American Bowl. Fortt began his college career at Penn State, then transferred to Cal Berkeley where he finished as a semifinalist for the Dick Butkus Award in 2013, nominating him as one of the best twelve linebackers in college football. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2014 draft and played wit various teams over a three-year career including Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins.
